In a medium saucepan add the berries, water, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
Bring berries to simmer and allow berries to start to break down.
Place the thawed gnocchi into the berry sauce and gently mix once. Cover, allow to simmer on low for 5-6 minutes. Remove cover and simmer an additional 5-6 minute until gnocchi are cooked and sauce is thickened.
To plate, scoop desired amount onto plate, top with a scoop of ice cream and sprig of mint.
Notes
Use any berries you like or that are in season.
Alternatively, you could deep fry the gnocchi and spoon berry sauce over the top.
Use whipped cream in place of ice cream.
Try different toppings such as shaved dark chocolate or powdered sugar.
